Version 4 of the HCS_C main board is out, and incorporates all known issues (in particular the DRAM access protocol support for daughtercards).
The current primary focus is bringing up the HCS_C Ethernet daughter card. The hardware appears to be working fine, and current work is now focused on basic packet handling and DMA to/from the daughtercard DRAM. Currently the daughtercard has ethernet, 256Mbytes SDRAM, 32 IOs, some DAC/ADC channels, and some other capabilities.
The Xpress_C firmware is at revision 1.05 and has several bug fixes, it is currently undergoing extensive testing. It also has a substantial performance benefit--the processor now executes out of internal SRAM rather than from external Flash (the boot loader in the FPGA now transfers from Flash to SRAM before executing, which will offer a 2-5X improvement in token file processing). Finally, this firmware will examine the boot DIP switch and pick one of four boot token events files stored in Flash, thus eliminating the need to load an events file upon power-up, and permitting a quick switch from one events file to another, ether via power-up or via an Xpress command.
